Bay Run foreshore pathway lighting, Iron Cove
Iron Cove, Inner West · Inner West
Thorntek upgraded the pathway lighting along the Bay Run, the shared walking and cycling loop around Iron Cove and one of the most-used paths in the Inner West.
Iron Cove loop
Foreshore path
Motion step-dim
Citygrid control
Directional bore
No-dig sections
The Bay Run is used by thousands of people every day, so the work had to be staged to keep the path open and safe. Around the most sensitive foreshore sections, near established trees and existing services, we used directional boring instead of open trenching to get the cable through without tearing up the ground.
The lighting runs on a Citygrid control system with motion step-dimming, so the lights lift to full output when someone is on the path and ease back when it is empty. That keeps the path lit and safe while cutting the running cost right down.
